About ScamShield BD

Scams targeting mobile financial services, job seekers and families cost people in Bangladesh real money every day — and the people most at risk are often the ones with the least access to tools that explain the warning signs in plain language. ScamShield BD uses AI to read any suspicious message or screenshot and explain, in simple English or Bangla, whether it's safe, suspicious, or a likely scam.

Our mission

Help everyday people in Bangladesh recognise scams before they lose money, not after.

How it works

AI trained on common Bangladeshi scam patterns reads your message or screenshot and scores the risk with clear reasons, not a black box.

Built for everyone

Simple language, Bangla explanations for family members, and a practice game to build lasting awareness.

Golden rules to stay safe

  • Never share your PIN, OTP or password with anyone — not even “bank officials”.
  • No genuine bKash/Nagad agent will ever ask you to send money back from a “wrong transfer”. Call 16247/16167 instead.
  • Real jobs never ask you to pay a fee first. Any “registration fee” is a scam.
  • You cannot win a lottery you never entered. Prize claims that need an advance payment are fake.
  • Do not click links in unexpected SMS or Messenger messages — type the website address yourself.
  • Verify every helpline number on the provider's official website before you call or trust it.
  • Keep your mobile banking app updated and turn on transaction alerts.
  • If you feel rushed or threatened (“within 24 hours!”), stop and talk to a family member first.
